We raised $1,400The Book Swap supporting the Indigenous Literacy Foundation was hugely successful this year due to the enthusiasm and support of our wonderful staff and students. The Aboriginal Studies students worked with members of the Book Club to organise and run both the Book Swap and a Cake Stall at recess. Many students donated and swapped books, while others used their baking talents and donated some fabulous cakes.
The Indigenous Literacy Foundation is great cause that works with young Australians in remote communities.

September 7 was our annual celebration of literacy and books. Mackellar loves reading and Book Parade gives us an excuse to come together as a community, dress up as our favourite characters and celebrate all the wonderful opportunities that reading gives us. Students and staff were enthusiastic and appearances were made by a range of literary characters such as Hagrid, Peter Pan, Romeo & Juliet, the Hungry Caterpillar and even the Wicked Witch of the West.
